Chromecast (2020) With Google TV | Setup & Review

The new Chromecast 2020 with Google TV costs just £60 in the UK yet offers 4K HDR streaming support for a huge selection of services, making it one of the best options for movie fans.

Here's a setup and early review of the Google Chromecast, so you know if this dinky pink box is a worthy alternative to the Amazon Fire TV Stick, Nvidia Shield and Roku streamers. Google TV is based heavily off Android TV, although now with greater emphasis on search. You can hunt for specific genres or whatever across a variety of services inc Netflix, Disney Plus, Prime Video and BBC using your voice.

The Google Assistant does a decent job of finding what you need. The Chromecast 2020 does omit support for Stadia, which is a little strange and annoying for game streaming fans. Still, you've got 4K Ultra HD support, plus HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Dolby Atmos is also supported on the audio side. And while it's not fully featured, this is still one of my favourite TV streaming choices under £100. Stay tuned for a review of the Roku Streambar, and you can see my coverage of the Fire TV, Roku and Nvidia Shield alternatives here on Tech Spurt.`
