Niet alle muziek die je in je film wil gebruiken hoeft je geld te kosten. Op het internet stellen een heleboel muzikanten hun muziek gratis ter beschikking via de licenties van Creative Commons. Daarnaast is er ook rechtenvrije muziek die je vrij mag gebruiken omdat ze tot het publieke domein behoort. Er rust dan geen auteursrecht meer op het werk.
