Born under unusual circumstances, Benjamin Button (played by Brad Pitt)
is a character who actually ages in reverse, starting of as an old man
who ages...well, who 'youngers', is that a word? Well anyway, he
basically gets younger as the movie progresses.
Now, usually to achieve a drastically younger or older version of the
lead character, movie makes simply cast a similar looking older or
younger actor to play those parts. But what's so special about The
Curious Case of Benjamin Button is that it was Brad Pitt the whole way
through! Well, kind of. Here's how they did it.
Forget the technical definition of focal length, it's unnecessary to
understand it or practice cinematography.
In this video I explain only the useful features of focal length in
cinematography and mainly how to exploit focal lengths for maximum
impact.
Footage is taken from Youtube, so is of poor quality. It's impossible
for me to rip high quality content (it's illegal) of every movie for
this. This video uses low resolution clips from movies only for
informational and educational purposes under fair-use.
Hollywood blockbusters have become increasingly reliant on visual
effects over the past few decades, and recent advances in technology
have made it so feats in VFX work that were considered impossible just a
few years ago are now well within reach. More and more studios are
using CGI in films, mostly because it's often cheaper than the
alternative. In fact, many modern blockbusters are covered in so many
digital layers that the original footage looks unrecognizable—and more
often than not, completely ridiculous. Here's what these movies really
looked like before special effects were added...
Arrgghhh.... So stressed to get everything done! This video was even
supposed to be published yesterday which is another proof that time is
not enough right now.
Not sure if you are in the same situation but if you are and didn't
already know these tips before, I am sure you will find them pretty
useful. The number 2 and 3 I seriously use all the time. Something that
took me hours to do before I figured them out.
Good luck getting your stuff finished in time. ... Holy crap! Is it that
late already. Ok, gotta go.
