There's a lot more to shooting a great scene than just planting a camera somewhere and yelling action. We all want to shoot a scene that can be cut together to achieve great continuity with a good variety of shots. The 180-degree rule is a useful tool to help you achieve this. In this segment we talk about the basic principles of the rule, establishing action lines, working with shifting action lines, and redefining the action line using neutral shots, camera movement, and cutaways. Knowing how to apply the 180-degree rule, and when you might want to break it can take your production skills to a higher level.

Filmwedstrijd 2015 Centrum voor Beeldexpressie

Films die in de provinciale preselecties de vereiste 75% hebben behaald, mogen deelnemen aan de jaarlijkse CvB-filmwedstrijd. De secretarissen van de provinciale organisaties zullen deze films inschrijven én inzenden. (Zij krijgen daarvoor toegang tot een speciaal web-formulier.)

Cineasten die individueel lid zijn van het Centrum voor Beeldexpressie (rechtstreeks of via een filmclub die niet is aangesloten bij een provinciale CvB-organisatie), kunnen eveneens aan een preselectie voor de CvB-filmwedstrijd deelnemen.
Zij kunnen hun film(s) inschrijven via een speciaal web-formulier dat alle nodige informatie bevat.

De jurering - door vijf competente juryleden - gebeurt achter gesloten deuren.
De cineast mag evenwel aanwezig zijn bij de projectie van zijn film.
Elk jurylid schrijft een rapport over elke film. Die rapporten worden later aan de betrokken cineasten bezorgd. De quotaties van de juryleden blijven geheim tot op de galaprojectie en prijsuitreiking.

Data en locatie van deze jurering zullen tijdig aan de deelnemers worden meegedeeld.

Een film over een voettocht door de bergen in Alaska in 2009.
Deze route werd door tienduizenden goudzoekers gebruikt eind jaren 1890.
Jaarlijks stappen nog steeds bijna 3.000 trekkers de weg van 50 kilometer.
Iedereen draagt zelf zijn tent en eten voor 3 tot 5 dagen want er is onderweg geen horeca-zaak.

Uiteraard is de grote meerderheid van de beelden zonder statief opgenomen.
Daarbij moest ook rekening gehouden worden met het verbruik van de batterijen, beperkt aantal en ook beschermen tegen de koude.
