Videoclub Vilvoorde werd gesticht in 1979.

Onze benaming was toen Smalfilmclub Vilvoorde omdat video nog niet bestond en onze leden filmden op super 8 pellicule film. Later kwam daar ook nog 16mm pellicule film bij.

Dat was in die tijd altijd een spannende bedoening want de filmrolletjes moesten na de filmopnamen ontwikkeld worden. Daarna wist je pas of de opnamen gelukt waren en kon je aan de montage beginnen, voor zover het filmrolletje niet verloren geraakte, hetgeen soms gebeurde. De montage was knippen en plakken. Een foute knip kon niet meer hersteld worden.

Bij het dure 16mm formaat kostte een verspreking van de acteur of een andere fout 1000BEF (25 euro) aan pellicule voor elke shot die opnieuw diende te worden gefilmd.

Gelukkig zijn de tijden veranderd en wordt nu digitaal gefilmd waarbij onmiddellijk controle mogelijk is van de gemaakte opnamen. Ook de montage gebeurt nu volledig digitaal en er kunnen onbeperkt kopies gemaakt worden zonder kwaliteitsverlies.

We beginnen nu aan ons 48ste clubjaar, bijna een halve eeuw. Ik denk dat er weinig clubs bestaan waarvan de stichter na 48 jaar nog steeds aanwezig is om de club te leiden.

Dat we zolang bestaan is dankzij jullie, onze filmende leden en trouwe aanwezigen tijdens onze bijeenkomsten want zonder leden is er geen club.

Woensdag 9 september 2026 om 20 uur in het Auditorium van het Cultuurcentrum Het Bolwerk te Vilvoorde is er FILMVERGADERING.

Het nieuwe seizoen starten we traditiegetrouw met de projectie en bespreking van al dan niet gemonteerde nieuwe filmbeelden van onze leden.

We maken er ook meteen en voor de eerste keer een OPENDEURDAG van zodat ook niet-leden welkom zijn en over de mogelijkheid beschikken om tips te krijgen voor het verbeteren van filmopnamen.

Woensdag 16 september 2026 om 20 uur in het Auditorium van het Cultuurcentrum Het Bolwerk te Vilvoorde is er FILMVERGADERING met bekroonde films van BREEDBEELD 2026:

• “Vietnam van noord naar zuid”, een reisreportage (19'13”) van Irma De Moor.
• “El Greco”, een documentaire (6'31”) van Herman Bonnijns over de kunstschilder uit de 16de eeuw.
• “Fly in MASH”, een reportage (20'16”) van Tim Verschaeren van een jaarlijks treffen van radiobestuurde model-luchtvaart.
• “De speurder”, een speelfilm (10'23”) van Christiaan Verboven. Kamiel heeft net zijn diploma voor detectieve behaald en krijgt zijn eerste opdracht.
• “Egidius waer best du...?”, een genrefilm (2'43”) van Ivan Elegast. De verfilming van een gedicht dat 600 jaar oud is.

I’m a camera specialist at Best Buy and I see this issue all the time. Customers come in with their cameras having issues and I immediately check their SD card followed by the battery. Every time I ask where they got their cards, they usually say Amazon or Walmart and they have no clue there’s third parties that sell on their website. Woensdag 10 juni 2026 om 20u in het Auditorium van Het Bolwerk, Bolwerkstraat 17 te Vilvoorde, is er FILMVERGADERING met:

• “Anuja”, een speelfilm (22'21”) uit India. Twee zussen gaan op zoek naar geluk en vrijheid in een wereld die ze uitbuit en kapotmaakt.
• “Critters of Indonesia”, een documentaire (27'52”) van Filip Wachters. Behoort tot de top van niet-professionele onderwaterfilms.
• “De heksen van Sugny”, een reportage (16'26”) van Paul Verhack uit 2007.

Woensdag 17 juni 2026 om 20u is er FILMVERGADERING met de traditionele “Tips voor trips” aan de hand van enkele korte toeristische impressies:

• Praag (4'19”)
• Dublin (8'21”)

Deze filmpjes geven een goede indruk van de voornaamste bezienswaardigheden en steken filmisch goed in elkaar. Wanneer het onderwerp niet beweegt dan maakt de camera een beweging.

Alle leden worden daarna uitgenodigd om een drankje te nuttigen, op het terras of in de Bobar afhankelijk van de weersomstandigheden, als afsluiter van ons 47ste clubseizoen.

• “Iran, land van de Ayatollahs”, een documentaire (19'53”) van René Van Vaerenbergh. De film werd opgenomen in 2013. René overleed in 2021.
• “Een frisse duik in de zomer”, een documentaire (19'52”) van Lieve Delaere van een reis naar Spitsbergen.
• “Over mijn lijk”, een speelfilm (17'47”) van Ineke en Peter Brouwers uit Nederland.
• “Spoor van verdienste”, een documentaire (3'17”) van Daniel Beckers over een kunstsmederij.

Woensdag 20 mei 2026 om 20 u is er FILMVERGADERING.

Deze avond staat volledig in het teken van Artificiële Intelligentie.

• We bekijken voorbeelden van bestaande songs die gebracht worden door digitaal gegenereerde personen:
• Woman in love
• Rivers of Babylon
• Vervolgens zien we clips van een onbestaande zanger met door AI aangrijpende emotionele gegenereerde songs die al honderduizenden keren werden bekeken.
• AI geeft ook de mogelijkheid om in een vloeiende beweging en in hetzelfde beeld een persoon te tonen zoals die er vroeger uitzag en op latere leeftijd.
• Tot slot zien we korte filmpjes vertrekkend van een foto en een demo van de vele mogelijkheden.
